I have some Daffodils blooming. I’m learning so much! I love to learn and as someone who ponders, I considered the unknown of what I might learn next. All the garden videos will be kicking up soon as things begin to bloom. Oh, and the weeds already! I’m playing with a new flame weeder and have also been on my hands and knees a lot aready and it’s still February! (Posted February 28)
DAFFODILS
It’s been a while since I posted a stack. I must value my time and choose what I do with it wisely. That means not coming up with a post just to post.
Soon and very soon will come a plethora of garden and flower posts! I am learning a lot in my new way of garden journaling. What an adventure! After this one on Daffodils, I will be sharing about Squill, which is the purple you see in this photo with my Tete-a-Tete’s.
Click the above link to see my new Daffodil journaling website page with lots of information on Daffodils aka Narcissus. I added photos through the years from 2002 to today. I am most especially interested in my own journal because I love seeing how my gardens change through the years. Hopefully you will enjoy it just as much.
Thank you for watching my YouTube videos. I do make a small amount of money there and you just viewing helps me.
I learned about the 13 Divisions of Daffodils and now I feel I have purpose and intentionality to shop next Autumn. In the video, I even started meashering my petals and cups! Now how many people do that? I’m feeling as if I’m getting a little flower snobbish after my studies.
All of these Daffodils have been dug up and either thrown out or shared. This is the second time they have been dug up! The first time about three years ago we sold them and made $200 to $300. But they all came back! I am trying help my future self by changing my garden into something more maneagle as we age, but these flowers have a mind of their own.
I did not see my Pink Charm Daffodils yet this year. I know where I moved them to. I am going to be hopeful I will see them yet. The Sailboat Daffodils are not blooming yet either, so they are not in the video. Also, I have some double Daffodils that were here when we moved in 36 years ago that are just about the bloom. I only just learned that they were a double variety! Ah!
Just a Note
I have decided to number my stacks with an “issue” and then delete some of them. I have always deleted on Facebook and other places after I post. I do not need them keeping my diary, is what I often think. If I number them, people will know some are missing.
Lent
It has been almost three weeks since my last Substack post. I know many have grown accustomed to my sharing of faith through the religious season. I am taking a break from purposeful study during Lent this year. I have had such intense studies the last few years that I decided to keep it simple this year. Actually, keeping it simple and not adding to my own self-imposed to-do’s seems to have become my theme this year.
I do want to share what I am doing during this season of Lent. Before Lent even began this year, I found some Substacks that I enjoy reading daily or regularly. So I decided to merely continue with my new habits during Lent and I am glad that I have done so.
You can go back and read the archives of any of the Substacks.
is posting a daily reading of the Book of Concord. I started early on when it restarted at the beginning of the book with the Ten Commandments and then the Apostle’s Creed. I like that I can use my cell phone in the early morning to click the button to listen to the text. It is more do-able for me and I am more successful in reading daily that way. I had seen this before and had been subscribed to it, but could not keep up with reading via email. Now that I am on the app and can listen, things are great. Then on the weekends he has guest writers who reflect on the readings of that week and I have found them to be very interesting. I have even seen a person I know write a reflection. Last weekend there was even a song to listen to.
Rather than add to my to-do for Lent, I decided to continue this new practice to build a new habit. It was a good choice.
Reverend
has been publishing a daily Word of Hope through Song I have been enjoying pondering the lyrics.Another one that I have been enjoying since I first got on Substack is:
Reflection Challenge
Ah! I tried to get a little creative with this “reflection” challenge. It seems everything has been done before, even by me! So I decided to be myself and create a flatlay with a mirror, some of my Dad’s marbles, and a sentiment for my whole last week. I had fun playing until my plants’ grow light went out. Umph. I think Ria and Tizzy the dogs thought I was a little marbles! with @Patrik L
P.S. I’m working hard to take on each challenge with new photos and not dig in my stash.
As seen on Substack
This is such a great reminder that I do not need to be productive every single day. It is okay to just exist, just like the flowers that I love!
Woodpecker Photos
Posted February 17, 2024
Woodpecker. It's fun to watch him bend around the feeder. He's so flexible! I took a pause while working on a website to snap a few photos. I need to get out and about. These look just like all the other photos I snap every Winter.
Thanks for reading and subscribing. I know the world is information overload as I too struggle to absorb it all. Thanks for taking the time to add my contributions to your absorbtion time.

How is the weed flamer working?
Thanks for the mention!
