Grayhead Prairie Coneflower & Jesus Feed 5000 Digital Bible journaling (Issue 99)
And Summer Sun False Sunflower too!
Visit the new Grayhead Prairie Coneflower website page. I think these are here to stay in my garden because when the temps heat up like today, well into the 90’s, they perform fabulous. I do not even need to water them as they are a native Missouri plant.
Watch the YouTube video to learn more if you are a visual person rather than a reader on the website.
They were not in full bloom when I took the video, but here is a photo from today that I took while recording video for the Tall Phlox you see here (shhhh, don’t tell anyone that it will be coming up soon).
I moved the Summer Sun False Sunflower (video made last year, so website page already done. I’ll be adding these photos) early this Spring to get it out of the Purple Poppy Mallow masses and I am so glad that I did! It looks gorgeous this year next to our antique bowl birdbath on a chair that we love too. I love how it is gracefully falling off to one side down to the ground. It is almost as if it is hugging the birdbath!
To the left is Black-eyed Susan about to bloom and to the right is Sedum and Cutleaf Coneflower getting ready to bloom. P.S. I like having website pages done so I can just link them up for you. So much easier!
I do not know who she is, but Bree has been such an encouragement to me on Substack. I’m glad she is here. Look at the creative garden piece she made after being inspired by my post.
I have been working a few days studying a pondering the next Scripture in my chronological digital Bible journaling venture. This Scripture is on Jesus feeding the 5000. You can read all of my notes that I made while reading and pondering on the new website page for Jesus feeding the 5000. I love learning together, so I invite you to share your thoughts with me in the comments on Substack.
I have taught this Bible story many times over the years to Sunday School children and yet I struggled to choose a meaning for this story. I think it is because I am older and my personal view of the Bible not being about me, and that it is all about Jesus, clouded over my thinking. I eventually made my way as I listed at the bottom of the page what this Bible story tells me about God and what I am to do. Then I turned to my catechism and inserted how this Bible story fits into what I know about my faith and found even more meaning. I like this new practice of mine to pull out the chatechism and see where Bible verses back up belief.
I used free graphics from Visual Faith Ministry and the LilyPad Self-Portrait Blog Hop free pieces from last October for this digital art.
If you want to read along with me, the next story is Jesus walking on the water.
Go out and find the little things that bring you joy!
Cheryl
