Blue Star is such a simple name that I tend to want to call it Amsonia, which is just fun to say! This is a Missouri native plant, so you have the oooooh-kay from all enthusiats to plant it.

This plant is new to me and fairly new to my garden. In fact, a year ago I had no idea what it was because it was one that my hubby grabbed because I did not plant it fast enough for him and randomly planted. As you may know, I have taken back control of my gardens and I am finding joy in them again. Here is one of those joys!
Watch the YouTube video which has all the same info as the website, except the photos, if you like visual learning instead of written.
Is it me, or does this flower make you think of “stars in the eyes.” We often think of someone having stars in their eyes when they leave home for the first time off to adventure into the world, hopeful and excited about what is to come, feeling positive that it will be better and more joyful in the future.
That just hit me when I was pondering what to write to you and I think that might just stick in my head! I like it!
This flower gives me hope and excitement about what is to come.
That encourages me to go ahead and get started in my day!
What about you?
My friend,
and I just yesterday started another new random “daily thing.” We message each other A LOT. We spent over a year starting the day praising God first thing and that was a blessing, and we moved on to some other first day starters, but have not had one in a while. Suddenly, this one appeared yesterday. We are going to text each other our “today’s list” of goals and then at the end of the day text the list with checkmarks.I am excited about what this will do for us! I am very goal oriented and at the end of the day, if I have not checked some things off my list, I get down. I have always been that way. This will allow me to see just how much I really do get done, even if it feels as if I have gotten nothing done. On the other hand, she is more laid back than me and, as is often the case in my friendships, people feel my life is so full and theirs is so dull. It’s not that my life is so full really, but rather that I analyze it and “see it.” I think she will come away realizing just how full her life! Or maybe she will teach me how to slow down and realize that “read a magazine” is doing something and is a checkmark done.
I do not want to share my whole list for today. There are 12 things on it, but I laugh every time I read #1. I have had the runs now for 5 days and I hope today is the last day because this is getting REALLY old! I really do not like being friends with the bathroom. I think it is viral and has to run its course, but it’s not leaving fast enough!
I am about to checkmark off #2! Whoo hooo! That’s this post.
I live in the path of totality for the eclipse. I bought a new filter for my camera, but I really need to figure out how to use it before Monday, so that is time sensitive. I need to practice at the same time as Monday’s even so I know the direction of the sun in the sky at that time so I can decide where I will go in town to film the eclipse.
I took photos in 2017 (click here to website). We are in the path of totality twice in our lifetime which is totally a rare thing! I got a cool sunset photo in the middle of the day at the bridge in 2017.
This is an animation of the 2017 photos I took. I have no idea what settings I used although I did do bracketing. I need to figure all of that out! Today!
See you next time,
Cheryl
So I totally laughed about you checking off #2 and how #1 is a #2 problem...🤭...
You described us very well.😊 We're well-balanced.
