Visit the new Hosta website page. I am very interested in what I learned about the leaf size and leaf color categories of Hosta plants and they are listed on the website page. As always, lots of stuff on the new website pages for you to enjoy.
Above is my little king toad and his house (a former bird house) and his domain (a broken bowl buried into the garden bed) which brings me a smile every time I walk by it. I’ve watched others catch on to the ‘king of the house’ theme too which brought me delight.
It is fun to be creative in the garden. Gardening is a form of art. Hosta plants are easy to be creative with, especially since I learned they can go in pots. In pots they stay within their bonds and do not invade on the space of others.
Here’s a Hosta in a small pot in the back of my trike. It is blooming right now too. It makes me smile.
And I really love the Hosta in this pot, especially since I raised it with a plant stand and put it behind the water fountain. It just goes together and I love the little mound of lovely at the top. Part of me wants to draw or paste eyes on my pot because it looks like a head of hair! I like that I can walk by the pot and it is chest eye so I can see the flowers without bending over.
And here is my shade garden. We used to mow this and we hated mowing it mostly because it was about 1 1/2 width of the lawn mower and it was difficult to turn the mower around. We have not regretted it one bit turning it into a shade garden with Hosta, a variety of ferns, and Huechera. The placement of each plant alternating is a form of art.
Here is the new YouTube video for Hosta plants. We literally threw away about 20 Hosta plants last year, and most were huge. That was the beginning of opening up my garden space for new creativity. Hosta are so easy to grow and take up so much space that we were using them as a crux (aka essential part).
The crux of the matter is that I was too lazy to change it. The solution of the matter is that I have finally adapted and am happy for empty dirt places begging to be filled with a bit of creativity or happenstance, whichever occurs first.
My last post I shared how close I was to reaching 2,900 YouTube subscribers, and now my account is only 2 away! I rarely watch stats, but sometimes it is fun when it gets this close.
I am working on a few videos for the next flowers, but I do not have any ready to go, so it may be a few days before you see me again. Actually, I think a break is good for both me and the reader! Maybe I’ll have some creative things from last weekend ready to share with you the next round too.
I value your interest in my shares! I do, really!

P.S. For those that do not have flowers in their abode, I found some paper flower instructions linked on my website.
P.S.S. Or if you do have flowers to pick, here is some inspiration to be creative with them. Just grab some cups or jars around your house and a bit of ribbon.
So far, I have three hostas that are actually doing fairly well. I read on social media that Irish spring soap will keep the bunnies and deer away. I take my cheese grater and grate the bar around my plants and so far it’s working!
I love hostas ... and have a few that come up on one side of my house every year. They never get very big, maybe too shady? Perhaps I should dig them up and put them in planters like yours!
