Your birdbath planter is very stylish. i love it. I have a stone bird bath left by the previous owner. I tried to turn it into a planter, but I haven't figured out how to add drainage at the bottom.
My bird bath is plastic and it actually won’t hold water anymore because it has a crack in it. So rather than throw it away we did this years ago. Threw away the base though over the weekend.
Very lovely planter! There is no drainage at the bottom of your toolbox—is that okay for stonecrop? I have this plant too. Repurposing kitchenware into garden ware is one of my favorite crafts.
Your antique is truly something with that perfect leak! Meanwhile, my vintage hammered aluminum pot is still going strong—no cracks, no leaks😄 I don't want to drill a hole in the bottom of this nice-looking pot, so I'm thinking of finding a cheap plastic pot of the same size to use as a liner.

It actually leaks at the metal seams. It doesn’t hold water. If it did though, it’s too shallow to hold much and would not be there long.
I have used old metal pots before in the garden.
